Happy New Year! I'm currently sitting and trying to catch up with things that need to be done. I'm making a list of blog improvements to come and I'm immensely excited. This year has been full of random surprises and I would have to say it was okay. As some of you know, this year has been quite a struggle for me. Everyone has ups and downs and I'm just in a period full of downs. These last few months have been better than I expected. I've managed to get through another year and that's always good. I've been pulling through and I constantly remind myself to keep on going. So, that's what I've been doing. This year has also included some thoughts on what do with my life. I've always had a thing for writing and fashion. I thought it would be great to mix the two. Blogging has been a good outlet for me and you all are a huge help. I couldn't ask for anyone better. You're positive comments are a part in the reassurance to keep me striving for my goals.

I apologize for having an emotional post today and not much of one talking about fashion. I promise to keep the sappy posts at a bare minimum.

This monthly marvels are trends that I'm currently seeing at high school. Going to a public school in the middle of nowhere doesn't really give you much of a variety fashion wise. I'll be back soon (Hopefully in a few days!) and I'll introduce some new things.

I hope you all have had good holidays!

With love,
Carmen

Very Belated Christmas

Hi guys! I've been gone for quite awhile and I apologize for my absence. I missed doing my bug Christmas post and I was so excited about it. I wanted to share my outfit with you on Christmas but I didn't have much time. My sister were still wrapping presents on Christmas day! We eventually got toolazy to wrap them so we found some cute christmasy boxes to wrap them in. I've never had a more hectic Christmas.

Anyways, the purpose of this post is to give you a bit of insight of my posts to come. I was thinking of doing interviews every month and do a giveway sometime during the new year. I'll stick to doing Monthly Marvels posts and I might throw in a few instagram updates. I hope this makes you all very happy about the future of this blog. Feel free to email or comment some ideas. I don't mind and my inbox is slightly empty.

With love,
Carmen

Today has been a slightly laid back day. I spent most of it going through my closet for possible outfits. I've managed to wear fuzzy socks everyday and I've got a large collection of them. Tights have become my winter essential. With the temperature slowly decreasing, it's been a hard time finding things to do outside of the house.

The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a battle for me. For some reason, I've managed to rethink my whole life and what I want in the future. I think I'm to the point where I point out every flaw that I have and I've been in a constant confused state. For the last few years I've planned out my whole future and now I'm questioning everything to come. I want a career that I love and enjoy, but my mind has convinced me that I will never be able to achieve my goals.

I think it's safe to say that I want to put as much effort into blogging. I think I'm going to introduce a few new posts. Maybe an interview with another blogger, a giveway, or maybe a small Q&A. Feel free to comment what you'd like to see on here.

With love,
Carmen

Hi everyone! I was planning on posting this about 2 weeks ago. I just wanted to start back my monthly marvels series. Christmas is coming soon and I'm so excited. I was thinking of doing a giveaway after Christmas and I'd love to have you guys' input. I'll be back in a little bit.

With much love,

Vintage by Grandma?

pardon the missing leg, the lightings a bit off

Blouse: Gifted
Scarf: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Loafers: Vintage

The loafers were a gift from my grandmother last year and they are extremely comfortable. I'm not much for tights but they manage to keep me a bit warm when the temperature is slowly decreasing. This skirt has been one of my staple pieces in my wardrobe for the last few months and I can't get enough of it.

It's fair to say that this outfit isn't my best. I've been experiencing some sort of creativity block. To be honest, right now has been a bit of a rough patch for me and I'm just trying to get through the day. My mind has managed to overthink every thing I do. One day, I finish something that piled on a ton of stress and then the next second, I manage to stress about something to come. It's a never ending cycle of stress and it's making things hard. I'm trying to stay positive through everything and I've been trying to continue to strive for goals.

I'm trying to focus on everything that I love. That includes fashion, reading, art, blogging, etc. So, please ignore this rough patch that I'm going through. I'm sorry if I've been a bit bland and uncreative.

Well I hope that all the Americans are having a lovely Thanksgiving and I hope everyone else in the world is having a good day.

With love,
Carmen

Long time no see, again. I've been in the zone with school work for so long. I hardly even get time to sleep anymore. I feel like my schedule is becoming a jumbled mess. I've been a bit behind in biology and I stay after for tutoring sometimes. I've managed to get a low B in civics (which is bad, seeing as though I actually do well with politics). Most of my nights are full of studying and cramming for tests. This time, I swear to goodness, that I'll be on every week and post as much as possible. The holidays are coming around and I've been itching to start my Christmas music frenzy.

Now to this outfit. I've seen tons of boots being worn this fall and I couldn't be any happier. I love ankle boots being paired with boyfriend jeans. I have managed to collect tons of sweaters for this season and hopefully, they'll be making an appearance on here. I hope you all have a lovely day!

Let's be honest here, I spent 10 minutes trying to decide whether a white bag or black bag would look better. So, I added both. This post is dedicated to this gorgeous burgundy/maroon color. It's such a cute color and I've been dying to buy a sweater in this color.

Anyways, it's fall and it's lovely. I've been wearing my combat boots so much and I'm seriously considering buying another pair in a different color. Have any of you seen the ones in Forever 21 with the diamond shaped cutouts? I've been loving them from afar due to the fact that I've been wasting my money on giant sweaters. But money is never truly being wasted if you're buying cute sweaters, right?

I'll be updating soon with an outfit post just bare with me. I hope schools been going well for all of you and that you've been having a great day!

I feel like I've been missing everything that's happening in the blogging world, but today I am back. I have been through tennis season and am currently spending my afternoons at home with both of my lovely dogs. It's crazy to think that I've had this blog for only a short amount of time and it's become a love of mine. Life's been somewhat  hectic and I'm just trying to get through the day.

I've been shopping a ton recently and I still haven't invested in some more sweaters and boots. Which means...new outfit posts! It's hard to post outfit photos because the weekend is the only time that I can take them. So, for the week days you will have to settle for inspiration posts and instagram updates. I've missed you all dearly and I'm happy to finally be back (I promise I won't leave again).

If you have a favorite shop to get sweaters at, please do tell. I hope you all are having a lovely day!

Hello Again

Hi! I apologize for the amount of time I've been away. School has been a hectic mess and tennis is too. I've been busy trying to keep up in all of my honors classes. (Which are awful by the way.) I'm currently number 3 on the tennis team. Which is a pretty good thing for being a sophomore. I have both French and apparel this semester! Apparel has been pretty good. French is great. I've caught on well with the language. I'm volunteering at the local humane society and I start next Saturday! I'm trying to keep up with plans and it's been a wild mess. I've bought so many items of clothing this last month and I'm not even sorry. How are things with you guys? I hope you have a lovely day!

I am just now posting this and I apologize for that. I've been busy worrying about school supplies and what not. This is how I personally would style printed jeans. I've always shied away from prints. Lately, I've been drawn to the bold prints. I always style these with solid colored blouses. This makes the jeans become the statement piece. You can easily pull out a solid shirt and match from there. If you're like me, you aren't confident in wearing two different prints. I don't know. Maybe I'll be wearing two different prints in one outfit soon. I'm feeling a bit spontaneous.

What current things are you loving?

Dilemma

I've got this huge dilemma! I can't decide on a pair of ankle boots. They're all in the desired budget, but I can't seem to figure out which ones would be best to style with. I've got these jeans and I've decided to buy some always comfortable boyfriend jeans.

The boots on the left can be found here. They look so comfortable. I love the height of the heel. I'm not really for the color. I feel like they may be a better statement shoe. Those can be found at H&M.

The boots on the right can be found here. I really love the color, but I don't really know about the height of the shoe. I feel like they may be a tad bit short and would make the whole outfit look really awkward. This pair can be found at Aeropostale.

The big question is: Which pair would you buy?

The First Back to School Haul

Yesterday, I went to the mall and bought some clothes for school. Here's some of the purchases!

I bought these Red Camel jeans from Belk's. I'm usually afraid to buy printed jeans, but decided to get these. They fit well and can be worn with tons of blouses. I'm afraid that these jeans are going to be too hard for me to pull off. So, I just hope I can pull together a good look featuring these.

Most of you know by now that I have a love for prints. This dress is in a silhouette that is appropriate for school. I always hate the strict dress codes, but you learn just to work around it.

I bought these dark jeggings and absolutely love them. They are a good basic to have in any wardrobe.

I also bought some things from Victoria's Secret, but I thought that would be awkward to show.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I'm going shopping again next week. That will be a major haul, so watch for that. I was thinking of doing a "how to style" type thing. Would you guys like to read that? Feel free to email me! (I have shopping dilemmas all the time and need a honest opinion.)

Don't ask me how these photos came out awkward and tilted. I guess it's the way I had the camera propped up. Anyways, this dress was originally my older sister's but she gave it to me after she grew out of it. You can't really tell, but it has a peplum-like top. I have a huge love for peplums and this dress is perfect. I pulled on a white blazer because I don't really like to show my arms. I'm aware that that's really stupid, but it's true. The dress is a good length. I had these sandals given to me from my grandmother. I like that their black, because they go with everything.

I'm going shopping tomorrow after my doctor's appointment. It's basically going to be my back to school shopping. I'll be posting pictures of everything in a haul post. Feel free to email me or follow me on instagram. My user is @iminparadise. I'd love to hear from you!
